The hunt

Early morning, after a full breakfast, we drive (5 to 45 min.) to the field where the guides will have the blinds set and cases of shells ready. About half hour after light breaks, clouds of doves will start swarming over the hunters. There is no way to describe it; you must see to believe it.

The birds will fly all day long, but anyway we take a break for lunch in the field or at the lodge.

Depending on the time of the year, we shoot on grain fields or close to the roosts. This is the highest volume shooting ever seen; the use of shoulder pads and semiautomatic guns are highly recommended. For those who REALLY want to shoot a lot, we recommend two guns of same caliber, and a bird boy plus a loader. The limit is set by the hunter’s capacity; there are always more birds than anybody can shoot.

Species

Eared dove

 The lodge

This magnificent house was built for a former dictator of Paraguay.

It has, 2 living rooms, a huge dining room, bar, 6 double bedrooms, each with private bathroom, air conditioning and fireplace. It also has a swimming pool, tennis court, gazebo with a billiard table and bar. A 6000 ft. grass landing strip by the house.

It is surrounded by 33.000 acres of prime farmlands, where zillions of doves feed on Milo, corn, wheat and other crops.
